Terms of Service

1. Introduction

Welcome to Akyedie ("we", "us", "our"). By accessing or using our platform at akyedieapp.com and its subdomains, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

2. Who We Are

Akyedie is a digital gift card platform based in Accra, Ghana. We enable buyers to purchase digital gift cards that can be redeemed at our network of partner vendors across Ghana, including hotels, restaurants, salons, gyms, and retailers.

3. Gift Cards

3.1 Issuance. Gift cards are issued only after successful payment verification through our payment processor (Paystack). A card is not valid until a payment confirmation is received.

3.2 Non-refundable. All gift card purchases are final and non-refundable once issued, except in cases of platform error. If you believe there has been an error, contact us within 24 hours of purchase.

3.3 Expiry. Gift cards expire 12 months from the date of purchase. Expired balances are forfeited and cannot be recovered.

3.4 No cash value. Gift cards cannot be exchanged for cash, except through our cashout feature (subject to a processing fee). They have no monetary value until activated by payment.

3.5 Security. Treat your gift card code like cash. We are not responsible for lost, stolen, or misused codes. Keep your code secure and do not share it publicly.

3.6 Single-issue. Cards cannot be topped up or reloaded. Each card is issued with a fixed value. Multiple cards can be used across different transactions at participating vendors.

4. Cashout Feature

Cardholders may request a cash redemption of their remaining balance via Mobile Money, subject to a processing fee (currently 20% of the balance). Cashout requests are processed manually within 24–48 hours. We reserve the right to suspend or modify the cashout feature at any time.

5. Vendor Redemptions

Redemptions are processed at the point of sale by our partner vendors using our secure vendor portal. Once a redemption is completed, it cannot be reversed except in cases of proven error, at our sole discretion.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the platform for fraudulent transactions.
  • Attempt to circumvent our security systems.
  • Sell, trade, or broker gift cards without our prior written consent.
  • Use the platform for money laundering or any illegal activity.

Violation of these terms may result in immediate suspension of your access and reporting to relevant authorities.

7. Payments

All payments are processed securely by Paystack. We do not store your card or mobile money details. By completing a purchase, you agree to Paystack's terms of service in addition to ours.

8. Liability

Akyedie is not liable for:

  • Refusal by any vendor to accept a gift card (in which case, contact us immediately).
  • Lost or stolen card codes due to user negligence.
  • Disruptions caused by third-party payment processors or SMS/email delivery services.
  • Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of our platform.

Our total liability to you in any circumstance shall not exceed the face value of the gift card in question.

9. Modifications

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with a revised date. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ghana. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Ghana.
